How many times do you experience that sense that you have been in a situation or faced an event that you are sure you' ve experienced previously, it used to happen to me fairly often but not in the last few years, I wonder if has you get old it ceases because not much seems new anymore. In the last few days I got re-aquinted with work that I had performed almost twenty years ago janitorial work does not change just the location. My wife studied fiction writing for some years and learned that there were only 26 basic plots and that all stories revolved arround those basic story lines. Nothing is new under the sun, declares the bible and we often face events stranger then fiction. Most if not all aboriginal people recognize the existence of a spiritual world surrounding us or parallel to our world and they dont think twice about it. These people often regulate their lives according to that spiritual world, and most of our world would not dare to question them. But often today if you profess being a christian it may well be ridiculed, and viewed as something totally irrational, simplistic and absolutely unscientific. At this time of the year though, when the world gets busy with preparations for the holidays, it is ok to believe in Santa and to give him all attention. We know Christ was not born on Christmas day, we know that a lot of the imagerie of the season find it's ruths in folk tales and traditions, and even pagan religion, but nevertheless, it is not when, where, or how, without going to extremes of course, we celebrate it is who it's always about who we celebrate, the only reason people focus on the surrounding, it is because the are afraid to face Jesus and have to deal with him with the meaning of his coming. As Christians we don't need Christmas to celebrate Jesus we should celebrate him everyday of or lives but why could we not choose a day we all agree on and celebrate Him in unison for the particular reason of his coming, even if it's not on the day He was truly born. For me everyday is Christmas because I have to live every day in celebration of His life.
John 1:14 NIV
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
Jesus came to us, and that is truth
