"Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" John 8:32

God's truth is plain and simple no mystery there

How convenient

Romans 1:21-23 MSG

What happened was this: People knew God perfectly well, but when they didn't treat him like God, refusing to worship him, they trivialized themselves into silliness and confusion so that there was neither sense nor direction left in their lives. They pretended to know it all, but were illiterate regarding life. They traded the glory of God who holds the whole world in his hands for cheap figurines you can buy at any roadside stand.

How convenient to ignore God to ignore that He exist that He made the universe, that He created everything even you and me. At the moment both my daughter and daughter in law are pregnant, and both had ultrasound, saw their babies,once you see a baby in these early stage it is very hard not to  believe in creation, to not see the design and order in this integral part of our lives, one has to be blind or just willfully decide to ignore what has been given in plain view for us to see. Paul in that same book makes the point.

Romans 1:19-20 MSG

But the basic reality of God is plain enough. Open your eyes and there it is! By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can't see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being. So nobody has a good excuse.

It is time we stop kidding ourselves God created the world and that's the truth

9/365 Believing in God's relentless joy

Joy and God, may to many people feel like they do not go together very well.
Nehemiah 8:10 NIV
Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."
People who are close to God are  not so convinced, they might even believe that that joy can be empowering, that knowing how much God loves us and cares for us, how He delights in us  how we bring Him great joy . But more then that God is joy, like He is love, and peace, and justice and all good and honorable qualities we can think of.God is passionate pure passion, clean passion,undiluted passion. He is passionate about us we are His creation he exclaimed it is very good when he was done creating man.
Zephaniah 3:17 NIV
The Lord your God is with you,
the Mighty Warrior who saves.
He will take great delight in you;
in his love he will no longer rebuke you,
but will rejoice over you with singing."
When God is ecstatic over us He sings.
I like that and it's true

7-8/365 A great day to celebrate

Now that it is getting late I try to come up with something to say , something clever, smart and with a bit of humor and with obviously some meaning. If you follow this post, you know by now that I like to look at the reality of life and balance it with the revealed truth of God, and hope to change the common perspective into a Godly one. Because I am biased I believe that the perspective we can obtain from a relationship with God is the most desirable place we could want to be. More then that I believe that it is truly the only perspective that will make sense in all situation and for an extended period of time because it keeps us connected to someone bigger then ourselves.
Today we had new friends over for cake
because it is my birthday, so after having desert we just spent the afternoon chatting , one inspiring thing that came out was pointing at the benevolent desire of God to keep a relationship going with Adam and Eve and how despite the judgement required for the disobedience He designed a way to keep an open door.
God being perfectly understanding as he is kept in his sight th the justice and the love. He had to banish His creation out of the garden but he equipped them for that life, though God's gracious provision continued outside eden, man had to work for it. At that time, man and woman became master of their own destiny, and the seed of rebellion was allowed to grow in mankind. Rebelious spirit has always been at the center of mankind's relationship with God. That's why it is hard for mankind to understand it's need for redemption.

Has I finish the last sentence I just realize how much of a mouth full all this his and how only God's perspective make sense. We can try to explain we can attempt to understand but without God's spirit it will be incomplete.

6/365 No subject

Truth can be hard to accept, it can be unwelcome it is definitely disturbing but like it's meaning it is the only thing worth living for. Now of course many claim to have truth,and many say truth is what is true to you, that there is not an absolute truth, but like there is absolute laws that rule the natural universe and that these laws or truths like I call them are essential they can not be tempered with or modified without great consequences,truth has a life of itself. Now of course you know my purpose, bringing God in every nook and crany of my life. And as truth go there is an absolute, Jesus claimed not to know, not to speak, not to understand, but to be the truth. And one has to be crazy out of their right mind to claim something like that or to be God.Then if Jesus is God and the truth, he is the life we need to live.
John 14:6 New International Version (NIV)
6 Jesus answered,"I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
That is the truth

4/365 Help is on the way

I have been out of work now for almost two months mind you it is by choice so no one to blame but me, though I have been looking for work it has not been easy to find something that I would consider as a long time job, but the last few weeks have been more promising with a job secured but that starts only in november and today a good interview with the city, and again though it is the more desirable position I won't know for a couple of weeks so basically the same situation. How do one move in a situation like that. Unrest will come  in our lives wether we cause it or not, it will come and what ever way it presents itself  it will challenge us and it will push us, and if we decide to include God in the equation it will  or can push  us into extreme faith.In a world that seems so full of injustice or inequalities and suffering, extreme faith is the perfect response for a desilusioned world. Understanding and believing that there is a God omniscient and omnipotent, that really cares about us  is the foundation that will bring stability in the unrest. The concept that government catered solution can bring a lasting peace is flawed and demonstrate a poor understanding of human nature.. So for me help is on the way, I don't know exactly in what form it will be but I know my God cares for me and when I read the bible I am constantly reminded of that fact. On this note good night

3/365 A life different

After a busy morning I got inspired by a discussion with a friend and a few things in the paper here in Lethbridge. Some letters or comments on the occupy movement and even a caricature addressing some potential outcome. The unrest caused by the inequalities found in modern world are not new. They stem from the early beginning of civilization , and I dont consider myself an history buff or anything close to it. An example I'm thinking about is found in an historical book found in the bible. Imagine a people displaced by war and famine who return home and has to rebuild their city. Some residents left behind made a life for themselves and are not keen on helping the new comers. It took hard work from a diplomatic leaders to convince the resident to help This story found in the book of Nehemiah chapter 5, shows how a persons committed to God's law and justice was able to change the life of his people. The truth here is that man has a choice, living by God's principles or not whether you are rich or not the solution is the same, honoring God has the giver of all thing.

2/365 Life giver lived life

It has been hard to pin point a real subject or purpose for todays post, not that it is essential that there would be one just that today I had a day where the fullness of God's presence in my life was so intense that it really overshadowed every thing else , the fact that I am still unemployed and that our finances are in a poor state if not unexisting at all. You see I was able to take part in a small group meeting , prayer, discussion bible study this morning for the first time in a long time,and what has stayed with me all day is that God loves mankind, he really loves us he cares about us and when I say us I mean you I mean all of us I mean not just special people but anybody, dont get me wrong, he loves His own more but to say this does not mean he loves anyone less. Actually we dont have any standard by which we measure that love
One of the way we can know that love is what he did for us by his coming, hence the title.

John 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life,and have it to the full.
Now Jesus was not talking about our physiological life because he was talking to living people but something much greater,a life that fills you so much it spills out and that is truth. So live life like it's given by the life giver

1/365 Chicken bones for the soup

I know it's a pretty lame title but better then Unrest is a fact  part I I. Our world has been in a state of unrest since we walked out of the garden in the genes of Adam and Eve, and it's longing for paradise. These last few days, with the attention of the  media piqued by the occupy revolution, there has been the emerging of a sort of global philosophy and the stage continue to being set.
The world is hungry and thirsty for truth for justice for fairness, hunger and thirst are words that are used in the imagery of the bible all the time. One of the passage that occupies up my thaughts right  now is this
But my people have traded my Glory for empty god-dreams and silly god-schemes.
12-13 "Stand in shock,heavens, at what you see! Throw up your hands in disbelief—this can't be!" God's Decree. "My people have committed a compound sin: they've walked out on me, the fountain Of fresh flowing waters,and then dug cisterns—cisterns that leak,cisterns that are no better than sieves.
Jeremiah 2:11-13
It is a true picture of our world today,hungry thirsty but not going to the right source. That is a fact.

A post a day a year!

Well let see if you read these post from the beginning, you know Imade two promise in my life, one to my wife, that I would love her cherish her and honor her till death do us part, that was 26 years ago and I will keep that promise will all the fibers of my being and one day I will explain how important it is to me and why.  The other one and the first was to God, and if you read psalm 116 I promised I would serve him and honor him and lift up his name and give him glory before all the world and this is what this later part of my life is all about. God blessed me, gave me,an awesome family and he gave me good years and freedom to see them grow and to be there for them and I have served God in many ways,helping in all kinds of parts of the body, but the world has not seen much of it, hence this blog at the moment to attempt at becoming more public, with this call of my heart to keep this promise I made. We ought to be salt and light to this world and though I have no clue who will reed this blog it is just meant to be that salt and light. I know some believers will reed it I hope unbelievers will too. Well enough for the lengthy explanation, hope you'll enjoy if you choose to follow.

Unrest is a fact

Now it is quite sobering to consider what makes the news globally, the thing on my mind today is the occupy movement reading in the paper, on the news last night even here in Lethbridge there will be a protest march for that solidarity movement. Now there is nothing wrong in the public expression off the serious concern of a huge part of the population of the globe for a situation that is obviously much deeper then what could be fixed even by a global movement of that scope. The concern is real, the division is real, the unrest is real and as Paul the apostle wrote many centuries ago the world continues to increase in it's obscenity. The rich are getting richer the poor getting poorer, but the world keeps on demanding fairness, to continue to indulge in it's comfort, lust and greed, and that is whether you are poor or rich. Wants, haves, cheated,entitled ,angry, protective, jealous, unconcerned, are feelings that have slipped so far from God's desire for his creation. There is a deep devide between His will and the way the world is progressing and the only bridge is through Him, sorry not in a protest that resemble the scene Moses faced when he came down mount Ararat. After sept 2001,the churches started to fill up, now the world forgot again who is the source off living water , and that is the truth.

Wednesday, 12 October 2011

It has been a long day, today, mostly spent in my head. Such ups and downs right now and not much I can do about it. You see if one make a promise it is honorable to fulfill it, and despite the struggle at this time of my life I rather be here then still at Innovata Foods. It is a challenging time, an exiting time, that brings me right back at the root of that first covenant. Pastor Phil always said that there is no coincidence with God, so it was no coincidence that a guest speaker a few weeks ago spoke about covenant, especially at this critical time. The truth of the matter; I believe  I've gone full circle I have no more excuses . From full time studies to ministry to out of ministry to back in part time volunteer to a lot of confuse thoughts here I am again stripped of all distractions and the only thing that resound like truth is my covenant with God.

Isaiah 55:10-11
Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don't go back until they've watered the earth, Doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, So will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They'll do the work I sent them to do, they'll complete the assignment I gave them.

God is truthful to himself and to his word and to his covenant to us.the only true fulfillment for our lives is to walk in the fullness of our covenant with Him. And that's what make sense. On these words good night

I can't get tired of that sight.

Well here I am again one of my favorite spot right now, uninterrupted views and the sunrise an ode to creation. I'm getting my full of it drinking deeply on my morning outings of the glory of God's created world, yes created.It is way to magnificent to be an accident, a big bang accident. Or if it is an accident, maybe the Mona Lisa is an accident or the GG bridge or the Eifel tower. Imagination and order are seen in how the natural world works from the molecules to the deepest confine of space,that's the truth

Just wait now ...

On my previous and first post I promised to include a passage of the bible which is psalm 116, here it is.

Psalm 116

    I love God because he listened to me, listened as I begged for mercy.
   He listened so intently
      as I laid out my case before him.
   Death stared me in the face,
      hell was hard on my heels.
   Up against it, I didn't know which way to turn;
      then I called out to God for help:
   "Please, God!" I cried out.
      "Save my life!"
   God is gracious—it is he who makes things right,
      our most compassionate God.
   God takes the side of the helpless;
      when I was at the end of my rope, he saved me.

 7-8 I said to myself, "Relax and rest.
      God has showered you with blessings.
      Soul, you've been rescued from death;
      Eye, you've been rescued from tears;
      And you, Foot, were kept from stumbling."

 9-11 I'm striding in the presence of God,
      alive in the land of the living!
   I stayed faithful, though bedeviled,
      and despite a ton of bad luck,
   Despite giving up on the human race,
      saying, "They're all liars and cheats."

 12-19 What can I give back to God
      for the blessings he's poured out on me?
   I'll lift high the cup of salvation—a toast to God!
      I'll pray in the name of God;
   I'll complete what I promised God I'd do,
      and I'll do it together with his people.
   When they arrive at the gates of death,
      God welcomes those who love him.
   Oh, God, here I am, your servant,
      your faithful servant: set me free for your service!
   I'm ready to offer the thanksgiving sacrifice
      and pray in the name of God.
   I'll complete what I promised God I'd do,
      and I'll do it in company with his people,
   In the place of worship, in God's house,
      in Jerusalem, God's city.
   Hallelujah!

Just wait now don't go thinking another religious blog ,moralizing and telling people they are bad. You see I was bad I was facing death, in my mind and heart every day and i would abuse drugs and alcohol and my soul was in anguish and pain continuously.I was so hungry for love and peace, but it was coming out in the wrong way.  Ok just wait now I know you might be thinking , there we go again the same story has those other people who find religion, and you are right and you know why? It is because that is what people are looking for that's true plain and simple and God's love is the only love that will fully fill that essential emptiness that we all seek to fill. And that is a truth

great idea at 3:00 am

What a great idea  at 3am to make a promise to start a blog , to answer a question that only my wife would ask after a comment I made on FB about everything making sense. Now I have to back pedal about 26 years to explain everything.Maybe it is a bit more then 26 years because i made a vow , before i spoke the marrying vows with my wife, who is awesome by the way, proof she is still married to me which highlite her particular smart and keen mind. I've always said she is the brain of this family. Anyway while I expand on this particular virtue of my loving wife, i keep thinking of the reason for this blog ,like we really need another blog or maybe I need a blog. Well we will see now as i am thinking of the greater picture i keep thinking of something I saw in the Lethbridge Herald this morning about morality and health care, and how the two should not mix or something of that jist or like it's immoral to mix morality and health care together in the same sentance . Now I'm not for refusing health care to people who need it and now it comes back to me it was all about the shooting clinic in Vancouver. Now of course it all make sense. I believe we should not try to camouflage the truth addiction is a moral issue, it is not solely a health issue .But it is our moral duty as a christian society to love our neighbour and to take care of the widows and orphans . Now I'm not going to dig for all the historical facts but I believe it is well know that health care ,caring for the sick  and the unwell even because of their own doing has been linked with christian morals for as long as it had that name. Lets not be afraid of truth and moral absolute because lets face it we all do it but what root of truth will we choose , the one that tells me that there's  a God that designed a plan for humanity to live by that promises the best chance of a fulfilling life, or the shifting plan of a confused humanity that keeps changing what is moral or not. Well that said lets get back to that vow i made , but i will make you look for it , the ones who know me will understand if you want to know read Psalm 116 .I do not want these post to get to lengthy, maybe I will paste it next time meanwhile good reading.
